Get Involved

The museum offers opportunities for volunteers and docents to help us with hands-on activities in our outreach programs for children. People can also be involved by joining the museum as a Member (Individual or Business) or by contributing to our Friends of the Museum. Our semi-annual newsletter is mailed to all Members and Friends of the museum, who are also eligible to receive discounts for our gift shop.

Friends of the Museum

The Museum has an Annual Giving Campaign each fall for funding the support of particular aspects of the museum. Donors may designate contributions for general operations, for endowment, or for specific purposes like collections care, exhibits, or museum publications. The museum is a non- profit organization with 501(c)(3) status, so this support is tax-deductible.

Volunteers/Docents

The museum relies on volunteers and docents in various capacities. We also count on volunteers and retired school teachers for helping our Museum Educator with our children’s outreach workshops and activities, which usually take about 90 minutes of your time per program.
